Saint Vitus Cathedral - Prague

Situated inside the Castle compound in Prague, this Roman Catholic cathedral is the biggest church in the country.
It contains the tombs of many Bohemian Kings, Holy Roman Emperors, and saints.

It is also home of a dark legend, a curse.
The Bohemian Crown Jewels are kept in a crypt in the cathedral, and this treasure is ony shown to the public on very rare occasions. It takes 7 keys to unlock the crypt, each one of them held by a secular or religious official.
It is said that anyone putting the Crown of St Venceslas on his head without being a legitimate Bohemian king would die within a year.
When Reinhard Heydrich took charge as Reichprotektor of Bohemia-Moravia in 1941, he was shown the Crown Jewels. www.praguecityline.com/wp-cont…
He was presented with 4 of the seven keys to the Crypt, each key representing one of the secular powers he was now empowered with.
It is said Heydrich put the Royal Crown on his head...and one thing is sure: he was dead within a year after his visit to the crypt.
I for one believe this is the stuff of urban legends. They were other visitors in the crypt that day, and there's no testimony or evidence this actually happen.
